How to record a Screencast

Do you want to create a video tutorial? Do you want to show how to use some software to your friend? Do you want to show evidence of something, that you are not guilty of, on gaming sites etc? If you don't know how to do these things, then you are at the right blog. In this article, it is shown how to tackle all the above problems. For these cases, we need to make a video of our desktop. Many of you would think why not record a video from your phone, and transfer it to computer? Well, that could be a way, but has many drawbacks, like the graphics etc. may not be clear, etc. Another method is to repeatedly take screenshots, but that is a very time-consuming job. So, a better method is to record a Screencast. In this article, it is shown how to record a screencast. So, for this purpose, you need 1)Internet Connection 2) A Java-Based browser 3) A PC, of course. Some of the Java-Based browsers are ThunderHawk, BOLT Browser, Opera Mini, Hot Java. If you don't have a Java-Based browser, download one, and follow. To record a screencast online, we need ScreenCast-O-Matic. Follow:
  1. Click here.
  2. Click the "Start Recording" button.
  3. A box with dotted border will pop up.
  4. From the dropdown menu at the bottom of the box, select "Full Screen".
  5. Press the "Record" button to start recording.
  6. Press Alt+D to stop recording.
  7. Preview the screencast.
  8. To the right of video, choose what you want to do, and follow steps accordingly.
